As demand for oil and gas continues to grow and supplies are ever more difficult to access, the demand for and demand on bit positioning, formation evaluation and telemetry tools. Today’s power solutions for these tools have limited reliability, availability & power magnitude. The impacts of these limitations, including the cost of downtime for offshore rigs, the operating expense associated with batteries, and the inability to have real-time high-resolution formation data during drilling, is immense. An even greater opportunity exists in completed wells, where better power solutions are a key part of a suite of solutions required for truly “intelligent” wells.
OUR SOLUTION
Oscilla Power’s iMEC™enabled vibration energy harvesting solutions overcome all three of these challenges. Integrated into existing drilling and completions equipment, our highly scalable, highly flexible and inherently robust solutions transform drillstring vibration or hydrocarbon flow into a reliable source of electric power for downhole sensors and valves.
